Masjid Agung (Great Mosque) is located west of the North Square of the Keraton. This Grand Mosque has Javanese architecture.

Mesjid Syuhada. This modern mosque is equipped with library. Located in Kotabaru, 4 km north of the Keraton.

Catholic Church Kotabaru is located 1 km east of Tugu Railway Station.

Catholic mass is held in Panti Rapih Hospital Chapel every Sunday at 5 p.m. Services are in English.

Vihara, a Chinese Buddhist Temple, is located on Jl. Gondomanan, 500 m east of main Central Post Office.

Jagadnata Pura Hindu, is located on Jl. Sorowajan, 4 km east of Keraton.
