The photographs I have included in my entry show a broad selection of my work. The landscape photos entitled squats were taken in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne using a mixture of analogue and digital methods to make them descriptive landscapes of human created environments within a natural environment. They capture the harsh yet simplistic realities of Melbourne’s outer fringe.
Whilst the majority of my photos are taken in Australia, I generally like to shoot landscapes and I think that my inner conservationist is exposed through my landscapes.
I also enjoy taking portraits and exposing hidden facets of my subjects personalities and realities. Most of my portraits feature the Australian wilderness or landscape in some form, this goes back to my strong connection with the natural environment and how we, as people interact with it.
